Copper electroplating is usually applied for prime coat or base coat. This process increases the resistance against corrosion and also adds an extra gloss to the final coat. In this treatment classification is done according to the thickness of the coating process. This type of coatings are mainly used in printed wiring boards, electroforming applications and base coats in chrome nickel coatings.
Performance Tests
Coating performance is calculated by Surface Appearance, Coating Thickness (ASTM B499), Adhesion (ASTM B571), Hydrogen Embrittlement Evaluation (ASTM F519) and Solderability (MIL-STD-202).
