Tin Electroplating is coating a thin tin surface to a metal surface by electroplating method. These types of coatings are highly conductive and have a high corrosion resistance due to non-oxide structure. It is mainly used in electronics industry due to its excellent heat conductivity and solderability. By means of its non-toxicity, it can also be used in food industry. In high friction it also has a lubrication feature. Tin electroplating is extensively used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and many different metals. Every type of electric and electronic part, panel connection buses, contacts, cable terminals, terminals, rivets, parts of cutters, mills, fuse connectors, parts of switches, parts of starter motors can be plated by tin.
Performance Tests
Coating performance is calculated by Surface Appearance, Coating Thickness (ASTM B499), Adhesion (ASTM B117), Corrosion Resistance Test (ASTM B117) and Solderability (MIL-STD-202).
